My sensational GRW Buddy, Tami Brothers, is participating in the 2nd Annual Splash into Summer Giveaway (05/25/2012-05/31/2012). She's giving away a variety of books and my book, Breaking Free, is included in her giveaways. Visit her website to find out details. You can find her here.
This weekend we had a fabulous holiday celebration at my Georgia Romance Writers meeting. I enjoyed spending time with all my writer buds. As always, we had great fun with a special presentation featuring Nicki Salcedo. I want to thank Sharon Cooper for catching the fun on video. Nicki is visited by three writer ghosts and a host of other characters. I had a great time playing the role of a star struck author. BTW, feel free to leave Nicki any kind comments. She's done excellent service to GRW over the years and I am so grateful that she's given of her time and talents.
The other night, I crawled into bed exhausted as usual. I rolled over and spent some time lamenting over my oppressive "to do list" to my husband. He listened then turned to me and said, "You need to celebrate your successes." What could I say? He was telling me the truth. In fact, I'm guessing he thought that I didn't get his point because he showed me in a very positive way how to be appreciative of my successes. When I arrived home from my Georgia Romance Writer's meeting, he had a gift bag filled with my favorite perfume, a sweet note, and he'd taken the time to "sparkle up" our home by dusting, cleaning, and washing the dishes. He got his point across. I needed to show some gratitude and appreciation.
Over the last several years, I've come to use the month of October as my time for reflection and goal setting for my writing career. It's no coincidence that this also happens to be the time to attend the Moonlight and Magnolias conference sponsored by Georgia Romance Writers.
