Sci Fi Channel Had a Star Trek Marathon This Weekend: Feeling Nostalgic and Remembering My Sheroe Uhura

This weekend I've been taking it down a notch. I totally needed to unwind. I was so excited to see that SciFi Channel replayed all my favorite movies. I totally crush on Captain Kirk and Captain Picard is awesome!  But Uhura is my sheroe! When I was a child, I wanted to be her!

I don't know if anyone remembers her biography but after the marathon, I picked it up and started reading again.  I was just as captivated this time as the first.  I love the fact that she grew up in a progressive African-American family.  I also loved the opening where she tells that she was in her mother's belly as her mother hid a pistol against Al Capone. Now that's what I'm talking about! What a way to come into the world. Nichelle Nichols is an amazing woman and I hope to one day have as much adventure and fun in my life as she has.

Anyone else see the marathon?  I love those Star Trek movies! Where would we be without Khan, the Borg, and that horrible Probe that threatened our future!
