Thank Grimm It’s Friday!

Thank Grimm It’s Friday!

K. It’s truth time. I love Grimm! It’s one of my all-time favorite shows.  I have to admit, in the beginning I was simply intrigued with the “fairy tale” storyline.  When Grimm was in Season 1, I thought it was just another “fairy tale” show that would flop.  Really, I believed that there was only so much that could be done.  This season I have been pleasantly surprised and now I consider myself a legitimate “Grimm” fan.

First, the Grimm series is set in a multiracial world.  They’ve expanded the universe to include creepy folklore characters from a variety of different cultures.  I like that.. a whole lot.  But, what I’ve really come to enjoy is the growth in Nick’s partner, Hank.  Russell Hornsby has done a sensational job in taking a cop who has “seen everything” and awakened his character’s new curiosity in this paranormal world.

Hank’s character is conscientious, forthright, and fast learning this new world. In some ways, he’s handling this shift better than Nick.  Here’s a clip where Hank and Monroe are discussing his Blutbad identity. It’s comical but very telling.

With all of the changes that have occurred in Hornsby’s character, I’m hoping that more will come.  I’d love to see Hank grow into an identity, where , he too, is descended from a Grimm bloodline.  I’d also like to see more webisodes of just “Hank” and his adventures in this Grimm world.

Are there anymore Grimm fans out there?  What do you think about the changes in Hank’s character? Exciting or not? Would you like to see more of Hank's world?  Just curious...
