My BOLD Journey Interview: How I Found My Superpower as an Author

When I started my journey as an author, I recognized a lack of authentic diverse representation, especially Black female characters, in the genres I loved like fantasy, science fiction, and superhero stories. I set out on a mission to create multidimensional Black heroines who reflect the true depth, courage, and heroism of Black women.

I recently had an insightful conversation with Bold Journey about my path to becoming an author of books, audiobooks, and merchandise that celebrate badass Black women. I shared the key skills like determination, resilience, and creativity that aspiring authors need to succeed. I also provided advice for managing feelings of being overwhelmed.
