A Mythic Gateway to the Sentinel’s World
When thunder rolls over Metronix City, it isn’t just weather, it’s the echo of something divine.
Part supernatural thriller, part sacred storytelling, Oya Warrior Goddess Lore Book is a powerful fusion of Yoruba mythology, urban fantasy, and personal revelation.
Born from author Alicia McCalla’s grief and need to process her loss, this immersive companion became a safe space to mourn, remember, and rise.
Step into the storm with:
◆ “Talons in the Shadows”: a serialized mythic thriller where the Iron Talon crime syndicate dares to breach the veil between mortal and divine.
◆ “Chosen by Storm”: the origin of Tia Jackson, a grieving woman summoned to become The Sentinel, the mortal vessel of Oya’s stormbound justice.
◆ Spiritual insights, behind-the-scenes lore, and personal reflections that link goddess mythos to the rise of a Black superhero legacy.
For those who feel the pull of power in pain, who dream of justice shaped by myth, this is your invitation to walk between worlds and answer the call of the storm.

I already had a digital copy of this lore book and won the premium hardback copy from the author. Its a beautiful, hardcover copy of really good quality. I was also surprised at how quickly it arrived for a Print on Demand book. I ordered it on Friday and it arrived on Tuesday. I’m an author and I find research to be the least enjoyable part of writing. But this isn’t your average lore book. Aside from the interesting subject matter, I like the fact that Alicia Mccalla shows us how the myth of the goddess, Oya, came to inspire, form and shape the characters in her novel. And also how it inspired her in her personal life. It shows why so many myths have persisted over the centuries and the fact that they have the same functions for us that they’ve had for others over the centuries. The main thing that makes this different from the average lore book is the fact that it includes The Talon in the Shadows and an excerpt of The Sentinel, the work that was inspired by the Oya mythology. The Talon in the Shadows was such an enjoyable read with lots of twists and surprises as well as being a unique story with lots of interesting characters, especially the main villain. I also really enjoyed Alicia McCalla’s wonderful writing style. The excerpt of The Sentinel was such a good taster and I’m really looking forward to the next reader event to be able to read more of this unique and enjoyable new series.
